I have seen many people over the course of my professional and personal life, experiencing this surge of fear regarding the outcome of their efforts. This includes me. As I understood this phenomenon in my own life, I realised that the fear of failure, or even the unknown makes us doubt about the possibilities of our own abilities and potential.

However, what if we see ourselves as work in progress and not limit ourselves to a particular outcome. I am learning to accept my flaws, work with them and evolve. Isn't that what progress is all about? We strive to get it right the first time, which is okay, but if we don't, we succumb to guilt, shame and fear, which causes a dent in our self esteem.

Let us be the friend to ourselves that we are to others. Let us cheer and encourage ourselves the way we would another. Let us remind ourselves that all is not over yet and there are still many miles to go!
