Why does worrying not help?

The more we worry, the more we try to control our circumstances, only to realise that it is not possible to do so. With every thought, we wander into random scenarios involving unwanted outcomes or consequences that have not yet been borne into reality. In the process of being overwhelmed with the 'what ifs', we forget the 'what is'. We don't realise that our present has the power to create a future we desire, and yet we allow our fears to overpower our own potential.
Every time, we are in the flow of thoughts, we can, with intention and consistency, bring ourselves back to the present and remember the unfinished tasks rather than worry about the imaginary fatal consequences. Yes, it could seem difficult, but remember worrying was a pattern we developed over the years, which now has made us believe the worst. We can, in the same way, reprogram our brain to think differently. This forms a new neural pathway, that creates a pattern of staying in the present and not letting fear dominate us.
