World Mental Health Day was celebrated on the 10th of October. This year, I received an invitation to speak to students of the 'Bachelor of Accounting and Finance' (BAF) department on the concept of handling emotions effectively. It was titled as, 'Emotional Wellness - A path of Balance and Resilience'.
The discussion revolved around understanding different emotions, their impact on our approach towards life, and the methods that can help us navigate through them effectively.
It was revealed to them, that our subconscious programming subtly influences our life script, and also creates our core beliefs and wounds. They also understood the concept of releasing one's personal definition associated with a particular emotionally charged/ intense event (for example - failure, rejection). Important aspects of mental health - resilience, flexibility, and balance, were also discussed.
It was a 2 hour discussion which also included a few of the participants sharing stories of fear, pain and struggles and their ways to work through it.
Respect and appreciation for each person who faces battles of their own, struggling to find their way ahead!
Grateful to 'SIES (Nerul) College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Autonomous)'!
